Personality and Development of Mia Lu (Lu Ba Zhuang)
Baby Baba always cried during the first period because she was not accustomed to life in the Orphanage. She got use to the life there under the attentive care of the Orphanage staff and mommy caregivers. She always stretched her hands to her head and touched her eyes and ears. She has strong arms and legs. She likes to listen to music, but sometimes gets startled by sudden sounds.
Eight Months Old: When she was 8 months old, she could turn her head, roll over, crawl and sit up by herself. She could pass a toy from one hand to the other and she could lie by herself, sit up, stand up with help and clap her hands.
Nine Months Old: When she was nine months olds, she could utter simple sounds and liked smiling very much.
Ten Months Old: When she was ten months old, the mommy caregiver always took her outside to play. She got excited and waved her hands and legs when she saw the children playing with each other. She would typically fall asleep from all of this activity.
Eleven Months Old: When she was eleven months old, she could stand by herself for awhile. She could walk for several steps with a go-cart (walker). She would like to point out things.
Twelve Months Old: At the age of 12 months, she could walk following the adults. She likes watching TV and listening to music. Baby Baba is a lovely baby who is very playful and active.
LuBa's Typical Daily Schedule: Baby Baba leads a structured life. Currently, she is mainly fed on milk powder. She has 6 bottles of approximately 3/4's of a cup of milk every day. Her meal times are at 6:30 am, 10:00 am, 1:00 pm, 4 pm, 9 pm and 11:30 pm. Her appetite is good. She also has dumplings, steamed bread, fruits, rice juice, vegetable juice, fruit paste, soft noodles and porridge.
LuBa's Typical Sleeping Schedule: She has a 1 hour in the morning and one in the afternoon. She gets up at 6:00 am every day and goes to bed at 11:30 pm. Baby Baba is a lovely and healthy baby girl.
Biography of Mia Lu (LuBa Zhuang)
Zhuang, Lu Ba, female born on December 30, 2006, was abandoned at the gate of the YiFeng Orphanage on July 16, 2007. She was dressed in pink. A piece of paper was left that noted her birthday. She had a pointed face with a fair complexion. She was relatively thin. Her weight was 5 kilograms (11 lbs), her height was 57 cm (22"), her head and chest were 40cm. Upon examination by the doctor, the baby was found to a normally developed baby. She was named Zhuang LuBa by Yao Yiguo, the principal of the Orphanage.

A Name for baby LuBa
After many weeks of thinking and asking for suggestions, Rachel and I finally decided that we would call the baby: Mia Lu Kleinman. Mom is relieved to have a name for the baby and now I just have to get used to saying it!!!!

Any Now A Few Words From Mom....
What a relief to finally have a face to go with the baby and what a sweet baby she is. From LuBa's developmental summary, she sounds like one healthy and active child that doesn't want to quit and go to bed at night. I have one child very similar to that already, so Grandma would say that this was "payback" for the active, non-sleeping child that I was when I was little. At least Rachel's bedtime is 8:00 pm, so Luba is going to have to follow suit because Mom doesn't even stay up until 11:30 pm. That bedtime routine will definitely have to change....All in all, Rachel and I are pretty lucky girls to be getting such a sweet baby like LuBa. I hope that you will periodically check the blog and see the new photos that I will have uploaded from the trip (tentative travel dates of May 29th-June 12th) and feel free to make any comments, as we are going to miss family and friends while we are gone.
